However the Pax 3 is still conduction heating, which will never provide the purest flavor like with convection, if you are in the market for a convection style vaporizer that won’t break the bank we highly suggest checking out the DaVinci Miqro. In general the PAX is great for those on the go user who prefer portability or discreetness. We were happy to notice consistent clean flavour and vapour throughout a month of heavy usage. We used it as a true portable vaporizer and took it with us on hikes, walks and camping trips. We also used it as we commuted around Toronto. First thing we definitely give it's deserved credit is for how discreet the PAX is. Really easy to take out and put away. It has a convenient auto-turn off feature which comes in handy when you run into a crowd. Maintenance kit is super clutch. High end quality with a 10 year warranty. Half Pack Lid and Concentrate Insert are definitely value add if you want to limit how much you smoke or use concentrate. . App integration to personalize your experience is neat.
With the smartphone app, Pax 3 can adjust to any temperature between 360F and 420F. The Pax Vapor APP allows you to customize your session with individual temp control and with different heating profiles. Boost mode basically keeps the oven warmer for longer with less auto cooling. People who like this mode are looking for a faster session or denser clouds. Efficiency mode increases the oven temperature throughout your session. Stealth mode cools quicker and allows for stealthy light quick hits. Flavor Mode is all about preservation and only heating your herbs when you are drawing, use this mode if you value flavor and vapor smoothness over vapor density.
Without the app, you can press the mouthpiece for two-seconds to enter temperature settings mode, and click it once to cycle through 4 levels indicated by the LED. Exit temp mode by pressing down the mouthpiece (or by shaking the device).
Cleaning is super easy. Every 10 bowls you’ll want to do a light clean. The screen will start to clog around the edges and that’s generally when you’ll want to do a quick cleaning session. You will also want to wipe out the bowl and the underside of the mouthpiece as well. Occasionally you will have to do a full cleaning with pipe cleaners and isopropyl alcohol. Wipe out the vapor path, clean out the oven, and give the mouthpiece a good wipe down. A quick cleaning takes a minute or two, and the full cleaning will take about five minutes. Overall the Pax 3 cleaning is easy and straightforward but you do want to stay on top of it to keep your vape performing its best.
