The Official List: Top 10 Cannabis Strains in Ontario
Based on sales data from York, Mississauga, and Acton. These are the heavy hitters of 2026.
At Budders Cannabis, we don't just guess what's good—we look at the numbers. After serving thousands of customers in The Junction (York), Mississauga, and Acton, we have compiled the definitive list of the strains you are actually buying.
Forget the old-school names from 2010. These are the modern legends currently dominating the OCS.
1. Animal Face (Carmel Cannabis)
The King of Sativas. If you ask any budtender what the best sativa in Ontario is, 9 out of 10 will say Animal Face. It smells like lemon cake and gasoline.
Best For: Getting stuff done. High energy, zero anxiety.
2. Pink Kush (Pure Sunfarms )
The Ontario Classic. Pink Kush is the "comfort food" of weed. Heavy indica, floral vanilla taste, and a guaranteed good sleep. Pure Sunfarms does the budget version; 1964 does the organic craft version.
Best For: Sleep, pain relief, and Netflix.
3. Jealousy (BLK MKT)
The Craft Heavyweight. This strain wins awards for a reason. Frosty, purple buds that taste like candy and fuel. It’s expensive, but worth every penny.
Best For: Impressing your friends and high-tolerance smokers.
4. Donny Burger (Fraser Valley)
The Value Champion. You want an ounce that hits like a truck for under $100? This is it. Funky, savoury, and incredibly potent.
Best For: Balling on a budget.
5. GMO Cookies (Spinach)
The Stinkiest Strain. Also known as Garlic Cookies. If you like savoury, funky weed that tests nearly 30% THC, Spinach has this dialled in.
Best For: A heavy body stone.
6. Wedding Pie (Back Forty)
The People's Choice. Back Forty Wedding Pie is consistently one of our top sellers in Acton and York. It’s sweet, doughy, and very affordable.
Best For: Everyday smoking.
7. Blue Dream (Spinach/ 1964)
The Comeback Kid. Blue Dream is back. Whether you grab the pre-rolls from Station House or the organic flower from 1964, it’s the perfect blueberry haze high.
Best For: Hiking and creative work.
8. Cuban Linx (Tribal)
The Lemon Bomb. Tribal produces this strain in Quebec, and it flies off our shelves. It smells like pure lemonade and offers a racy, energetic buzz.
Best For: Waking up in the morning.
9. Comatose (1964)
The Knockout. The name says it all. This is a heavy Kush variety designed for one thing: Sleep.
Best For: Insomnia and deep relaxation.
10. Tiger Blood (General Admission)
The Flavour King. Okay, it's mostly sold as an infused pre-roll or vape, but Tiger Blood (Strawberry/Coconut) is easily a top 10 flavour profile in the GTA right now.
Best For: Flavour chasers.
